Coming through the recession we have seen an increase in commercial transactions year on year for the last three years but, 2015 has been our record year in recent history. As well as achieving sales and lettings for our clients it is, perhaps, no surprise that Chown Commercial currently has more acquisition instructions than at any time since the boom years, pre-recession.
Anyone shopping in the town centre will not be surprised to hear that we have secured fifteen new retail tenants as well as 4 new upper floor office tenants. Furthermore, we have secured lettings on Wellingborough Road, Kettering Road and St Leonards Road, as well as lettings and acquisitions in the outskirts of Northampton, Kettering, Wellingborough, London and Peterborough.
Following the recommissioning of the Albion Brewery, weve see two new upper floor occupiers since the bar was opened on the ground floor and we have also sold a number of town centre investment properties. More recently, we have sold Compton House, comprising part office and part occupational investment.
On the industrial front we have concluded 6 sales and lettings including 10,000 Sq. Ft. at Moulton Park. Following the granting of planning consent for residential development, Chown Commercial sold 2 acres of former industrial land at Studland Road to the rear of the new Aldi site on Kingsthorpe Road.
We currently have a variety of properties under offer, including two office buildings of 10,000 Sq. Ft., one in Northampton and another in Leicester, a Nursery and a number of Christmas temps.
Going back to the success of our acquisition team Stephen Chown explains "many investors are beginning to become more comfortable and attracted to the regions. Strong economic growth, resilient demand and a shortage of suitable assets all add up to real anticipation for the 2016 property market. Taking advice from a surveyor is a good place to start when the market is busy. Not only can you focus your attention on your core business at a busy time but also gain a valuable insight into a rapidly moving market.
